People Who Actually Care About Numbers

We're not typical finance consultants who toss around jargon and hide behind spreadsheets. Our team spent years working through real market cycles, making mistakes, learning from them, and building a practical approach to fundamental analysis.

Based in Hat Yai, we work with clients across Thailand who want honest financial guidance without the corporate theater.

How We Think About Financial Analysis

Most analysis firms focus on predictions. We focus on understanding. There's a difference.

When a client brings us a company to evaluate, we don't start with price targets or buy recommendations. We start with business fundamentals. How does this company actually make money? What are the real risks? Where's the competitive advantage, if there is one?

Our approach comes from years of watching markets punish overconfidence and reward patience. We teach clients to read financial statements the way a business owner would, not the way a trader does.

It's slower work. But it tends to lead to better decisions over time.

The Team Behind meshunion

Two analysts with different backgrounds who ended up with similar philosophies about investing.

Portrait of Dao, Senior Financial Analyst

Dao Sutherland

Senior Financial Analyst

Started in corporate finance at a Bangkok manufacturing firm back in 2014. Spent five years analyzing acquisition targets before realizing most deals were driven by ego rather than business logic. Moved to independent consulting in 2019 and focused on teaching clients how to evaluate companies without the pressure to always say yes. Has a background in accounting that makes reading balance sheets feel natural.

Portrait of Marcus, Research Director

Marcus Thienpont

Research Director

Came from equity research at a regional brokerage where he wrote reports nobody read because they contradicted prevailing market sentiment. Left in 2017 after getting tired of sugar-coating mediocre companies. Now focuses on teaching fundamental analysis to individuals who want to understand what they own. Prefers deep dives over quick opinions and believes most investing mistakes come from skipping homework.

Our Client Work Process

1

Understanding Context

We start every engagement by asking about goals, time horizons, and risk tolerance. Not in a checklist way, but in actual conversation. What are you trying to accomplish? What keeps you up at night financially?

2

Building Analysis Skills

Rather than just handing over research, we walk clients through how we evaluate companies. We teach financial statement analysis, industry research methods, and valuation frameworks. The goal is independence, not dependency.

3

Ongoing Support

Markets change. Companies change. Questions come up. We stay available for consultations when clients need a second opinion or want to work through a complex situation. It's ongoing partnership, not a transaction.

What We Stand For

After years in this field, we've developed some principles that guide how we work. Not marketing slogans, just honest approaches that seem to help clients make better decisions.

Honest Assessment

We'll tell you when we don't know something or when a situation is too complex to call. Certainty is often the enemy of good analysis.

Long-Term Focus

Fundamental analysis only makes sense with a long time horizon. If you're looking for quick trades, we're probably not the right fit.

Education First

Our best work happens when clients understand our reasoning and can apply it themselves. We're teachers as much as analysts.

We know this approach isn't for everyone. Some investors want constant market commentary or hot stock tips. That's not what we do. But if you're interested in building real analytical skills and making thoughtful long-term decisions, we'd be happy to talk.
